Allegra: Feature Bride | Ava's Bridal Couture

A beautiful Catholic wedding with traditional Mexican flair best describes Allegra and Cesar’s wedding day. They said, “I Do” on May 28, 2016, and will forever cherish the memories made with their family and friends. Allegra had a vision for her wedding day, and it was our job to help her find a gown that would complement every other detail.

After an unsuccessful bridal appointment at another shop, Allegra found herself at Ava’s. Feeling a bit discouraged, she explained her wants and needs to her consultant. She was looking for an all lace gown, white or off-white in color, a decent train, and some sort of sleeve. Kelly, her consultant, pulled several styles for Allegra, keeping her requests in mind, and throwing in a few other styles to reinforce her original requests. Allegra was pleasantly surprised to have loved a number of these gowns, but still reverted to a gown that almost matched her vision exactly; Allure Bridals’ Style #2800.

This gorgeous sheath gown showcases lace from top to bottom in a delicate design. The cap sleeves sit ever so delicately on the shoulders, and compliment the V-neckline. The back of this gown creates a striking look with a low back and lace scalloped train. We suggested swapping the ivory underlay for champagne to make the lace really pop and add a custom touch to Allegra’s gown. She was so pleased to have found a gown that matched her style so closely. Most importantly, she said, “I could move in it very easily and it was soft. I’m really big on comfort and had no problems walking around, sitting, or dancing!”.

The couple’s wedding theme can best be described as organic minimalist. From the flower selection to the wedding venues, and details on Allegra’s gown, this theme was carried out perfectly. Family and tradition are very important to Allegra and Cesar, so they took their time to ensure that both were represented all throughout the day. Holy Family Catholic Church in Fort Worth was the site of their ceremony. It was a beautiful full mass that represented the covenant of marriage and their love for each other. The couple and their guests then celebrated their union at Times Ten Cellars for a reception. Cesar’s family is from Mexico, so they couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the party then with some Mariachi.

Though the day was perfect, they were missing one very special guest; Allegra’s father. He passed away prior to the wedding, but was still very much there in spirit. Cesar was able to track down a 1970s BMW 2002, an identical match to the one her dad drove for over 20 years. Allegra had so many fond memories from her childhood riding in her dad’s car, and they all came flooding back that day. She was so touched that Cesar spent all that time to ensure that her Dad was honored in such a special way. It was the perfect getaway car at the end of the evening.

Beat Leukemia Ball - Omni Hotel Fort Worth

Very special night gettin' fancy with good friends and family!  The Beat Leukemia Ball is an event that raises money for leukemia research through Leukemia Texas, an organization that raises funds to support families who have been impacted by leukemia.  Honored to enjoy an elegant evening at the table of Mr and Mrs Heath.    One of the coolest parts of the program was the patient speaker, Katie.  She is 13 years old and has battled her 2nd round with leukemia .  Leukemia Texas was there for financial and emotional support when She began her treatment.  She completed a bone marrow transplant, but soon after the cancer was back.  The 2nd diagnosis being even harder than the first, Katie's parents decided to try a new type of treatment since the transplant was unsuccessful the first time.  Katie gave positive words along side her family - younger brother Maverick, Dad and Mom had special words to say.   How would she describe herself in one word?  "Optimistic".  That sh…
