Custom Sewing Project!

Look at these colors! Growing up, I have always loved lavender. I always dreamed of having lavender in everything when I grew up. I never got too far into pink and that is probably because I grew up with 2 brothers and had to get wrestled every week while continuing to maintain my girliness! Lavender is the right amount of femininity and grace. I love how this homeowner chose to mix lavender with the key lime green. Both colors are very soft and we added a nice touch of softness to the main focus wall of the room for the upcoming arrival of Baby Goldman! Here are some pictures of what we did before Pottery Barn Kids showed up with the furniture selections. The crisp white swags add an innocence and freshness with the light green polka dots. There were some privacy and light control issues we were trying to solve as well as utilize some pre-purchased hardware. So, with everything we were hoping to accomplish- the homeowner was very pleased with how everything met their nee...

Custom Sewing

What do you do for a two story ceiling? How do you soften this room that echos and feels so impersonal? Is this going to cost me a fortune with the amount of fabric we will need with the 250 foot wall height? These questions are all too familiar to those of you who live in these voluminous floor plans where the living room is the height of the second story. The answer: it doesn't have to be intimating and unaffordable! We help homeowners in this situation often, but rarely do we remember to take photos! Well, here is a recent 2 story room we completed... even though my camera flash did not flatter the detail of the valance in the greatroom, you can see the same valance design below that was repeated in the dining room/breakfast area. This couple was so much fun! They moved here from Europe to be closer to their children- who doesn't love that? I loved their energy and they even served us a glass of cold water that they added bubbles to! I didn't know those mac...

Custom Drapery

This stunning estate home is located a few blocks South of the Austin Oasis restaurant on Lake Travis. The architecture and design are incredible and it was a pleasure working with this homeowner on the window coverings. Here is the second picture view of the dining room drapery. We loved the tassel tie backs and how they brought in elegance and appeal to the design. This was one of the upstairs guest rooms. Absolutely beautiful drapes to accentuate and already amazing view. Another guest bedroom picture. The custom hardware was selected by the owner. Beautiful. You can almost see the lake view past the windows.... What a classy concept!

Custom Drapery

We went to Berhen's Ranch in Round Rock, Texas this month to install a simple yet classic looking full panel drape. These were constructed in a faux silk Robin's Egg Blue main panel fabric which was a great cost savings for the high end look we were going for! The bottom solid faux silk taffeta in chocolate brown is what makes this drapery truly custom. We love that simple detail that makes a world of difference in the design. With full interlining, you cannot see through these drapes which make it great for Saturday morning cartoons when the sun beams out of the picture windows. Function and beauty... What a classy concept!

Custom Drapery

The Ranch at Brushy Creek. I wanted to share this new home we recently installed drapery for in Round Rock, Texas. The design of these panels included a 30" cuff at the top of the panel, a coordinating fabric band between it the panel fabric. The main fabric was a broomskirt finish which brought in a texture. They turned out very dramatic and went great with the hobbled Roman Shade from B & W Window Coverings. The fabrics they offer go great with the fabrics that our homeowners are ordering. Here is the side view of the entire panel. I loved this maching valance above the kitchen window! What a great way to bring in the fabric to match every room in this open area that needed coverings or softening. What a classy concept!

Her bakery is so charming a nd I loved peeking my head in each time I visited her home to take in the smells of Heave n that filled t he room. Adding Youth Into your Life!

Amy Brady is Chief Organizer of The Clutter Consultants of Austin, Texas. When Amy office, she was sent by a friend and was very open to ideas for her window coverings. Her home has been completely remodeled from top to bottom. I met with Amy in her home and the point I kept hearing from her was how she wanted to "Bring the Same Youth" into this room to reflect their own personalities. Such an adult room needed the right choice of fabrics to maintain the sophistication, but also bring in some whimsy. The room was already beautiful. Passed on antiques and furnishings that are very special to her. Now that the drapes are in, you can really see the difference the room took on. This room sings with shades of orange/reds, golds and jewel tones of detail within the fabric's pattern. Here are the pictures before the drapes were hung. We decided to use woven woods based on the look Amy wanted to create. N ow, here are the "after" photos! How sexy are t...

Making a house a HOME.

Home staging is a hot topic on various shows with HGTV. Many of you are as addicted to the shows as we are. We are always happy to assist our homeowners with their homes and Realtors with their listings. Recently, we staged a beautiful home that recently went on the market in Steiner Ranch. This amazing, never been lived in home features four bedrooms, three-and-a-half bath with a game room and 3 car garage. It was built in 2007 as well as located inside the Steiner Ranch University of Texas Gated Golf Course section and is listed at $830, 520. This price makes this home significantly less than any of the others on the market. The outdoor living in this home is a must see with it being on a private drive. For more information on this home and/or to schedule a viewing contact the listing agent Robin Curle with JB Goodwin Realtors at (512) 633-3011 or via email at rcurle@jbgoodwin.com 1645 Lake Cliff Hills Above: The front elevation of the home is so charming!
