Beat Leukemia Ball - Omni Hotel Fort Worth

Very special night gettin' fancy with good friends and family!  The Beat Leukemia Ball is an event that raises money for leukemia research through Leukemia Texas, an organization that raises funds to support families who have been impacted by leukemia.  Honored to enjoy an elegant evening at the table of Mr and Mrs Heath.    One of the coolest parts of the program was the patient speaker, Katie.  She is 13 years old and has battled her 2nd round with leukemia .  Leukemia Texas was there for financial and emotional support when She began her treatment.  She completed a bone marrow transplant, but soon after the cancer was back.  The 2nd diagnosis being even harder than the first, Katie's parents decided to try a new type of treatment since the transplant was unsuccessful the first time.  Katie gave positive words along side her family - younger brother Maverick, Dad and Mom had special words to say.   How would she desc...

Happy Mother's Day Wifey's!

One of the oh so many things I love about bridal shop happenings... the meaningful relationships. We meet a bride, she buys her wedding dress... the end, right? I sure hope not! Over the past 12 years in business, I have met some of the most amazing men and women who were once customers at some point in time.  They definitely bought more than "just a dress" or "just a service".  We make so many memories together, form a relationship and that relationship is so special!  No two customers are ever alike. You would think after 12 years it would get old.  Would it be the same day after day?  Year after year?  Same old stories, same old song and dance? Thankfully for me, it doesn't! Today's blog, I am thinking of all of our past brides who became a wifey after saying "I Do".  Perhaps the journey as a wife means you want to become a mom. Maybe you have decided you want a family with kiddos...  Maybe you are marrying into a family with children... Maybe ...

Cristen: Feature Bride | Ava's Bridal Couture

A big, open Texas pasture, home-cooked meal, and lots of family and friends were just some of the details in Cristen and Garrett’s wedding. They married on September 30, 2017 in an outdoor ceremony on family land in the DFW area. We loved helping Cristen find the dress of her dreams to match her rustic-chic wedding. THE DRESS First time was a charm for this sweet bride. We were her first stop that day. She had other appointments scheduled, but said, “The second I walked into the store I knew I was going to find my dress here,”. She discussed her wants and needs with our consultant. Being open to all styles in ivory, a variety of gorgeous gowns were selected for her. Cristen said, “She made the whole process so easy and pleasant for us! She knew what I wanted even when I didn’t know myself.” With her mother and grandmother by her side, she sure did find the perfect gown. It ended up being the very first one selected by her mother, which made it even more special. ...

Allegra: Feature Bride | Ava's Bridal Couture

A beautiful Catholic wedding with traditional Mexican flair best describes Allegra and Cesar’s wedding day. They said, “I Do” on May 28, 2016, and will forever cherish the memories made with their family and friends. Allegra had a vision for her wedding day, and it was our job to help her find a gown that would complement every other detail.  THE DRESS  After an unsuccessful bridal appointment at another shop, Allegra found herself at Ava’s. Feeling a bit discouraged, she explained her wants and needs to her consultant. She was looking for an all lace gown, white or off-white in color, a decent train, and some sort of sleeve. Kelly, her consultant, pulled several styles for Allegra, keeping her requests in mind, and throwing in a few other styles to reinforce her original requests. Allegra was pleasantly surprised to have loved a number of these gowns, but still reverted to a gown that almost matched her vision exactly; Allure Bridals’ Style #2800. This g...
