What are we up to in the Alterations Department?

Our gorgeous brides have us busy busy busy this time of year pumping out amazing designs and creativity in the Alterations Department! Thank goodness for our team of professional tailors who each have their background and specialty. LOVE working with brides who push our creativity to the max with the requests you ladies are sending our way.

No two brides are EVER alike at Ava's Bridal Couture and Classy Concepts Bridal Boutique! That's what makes this part of our job so exciting and rewarding. One of the biggest requests we are seeing is sleeves. Not just full length sleeves, but all sorts of styles that are creative and fun to transform a strapless dress into a masterpiece.

One of the biggest questions we get asked in store is "When should I begin my alterations?"
If you are a plan ahead gal like me, start them when you have reached your goal weight and do not plan to fluctuate -OR- 3 months before your need by date (which ever comes first).

3 months ahead gives you a step ahead by planning early. Planning ahead of schedule is never a bad way to get ready for your wedding if you can! When you are ready to book, give us a call at Ava's Bridal Couture, Fort Worth 817-732-4457 and at Classy Concepts Bridal, Mansfield 817-473-2100.

Other brides will book their first fitting 2 months before the need by date. This works well as well and works well for brides who do not want to plan 3 months ahead. It can get short on time though because the bride is detailing her catering, RSVP, name cards and final details that can be time consuming. Hang in there, you are doing a great job handing work, life, love and wedding plans!

I am proud of each of you who are taking each task one at a time because you have so many options now and so many creative ways of brainstorming your wedding day planning - it's unreal how many options brides have today!

If you are waiting till the last minute to lose weight or to reach a goal you have for yourself, we can accommodate a rush order that is due within 30 days of your need by date with a small rush fee. This allows you to start your alterations closer to the wedding day.

A big white barn, beautiful pink roses, and plenty of rustic-chic touches made for a perfect summer wedding. Miranda and Bryce were married on July 7, 2016 surrounded by plenty of family and friends. We were so thrilled to have helped her find a dress that tied all her wedding day details together, and absolutely stole the show. THE DRESS We love it when a bride comes to us with an open mind while searching for the perfect gown. Her only criteria was that her gown must have either have lots of detail or have an open back. Grandparents are just special people! My grandma has been in ICU since September 23rd, 2007 and it has been a long road to recovery. There was a time when all of us were not sure if she would live through this, but thankfully with prayer of loved ones.... she is now in recovery. They mean so much to me. They are the picture of what love means. They were both born in the 20's and are so young at heart still today. I admire thier strength through all of this and seeing a relationship I could not imagine growing stronger between the two of them warms my heart. Everyone is anxiously awaiting her return home with 2 dogs, daughter Stephanie, Grandpa and a new elevator Grandpa is having put in! :) This picture below was taken in the French Quarter of New Orleans when we took a trip to Louisiana several years ago to see her brother Bill. New Building Under Construction Nearby!

You won't need to drive far from our current location on Debbie Lane to see us at our new building under construction! After 10 years making Debbie Lane our "home" for Say Yes to the Dress moments and memories, we reached a crossroads and made a big decision to merge the two locations while under construction. How can we keep up with new generations and stay on the cutting edge for our two stores? Our current lease at 1205 E Debbie Lane ended at the New Year of 2018. We secured an awesome new property for our bridal business to focus more on customer experience, convenience and online shopping!
