The White Wedding Dress

The White Wedding Dress (A friend of mine found this on CNN.com and I wanted to share! It made me laugh and there were lots of other fun things to mention on the same topic that I will continue to share at a later time. Thanks, Suz!) Technically, today's wedding gowns aren't white. They are "Candlelight," "Warm Ivory," "Ecru" or "Frost." But there was a time when a bride's wedding attire was simply the best thing in her closet (talk about "off the rack"), and could be any color, even black. To convince her groom that she came from a wealthy family, brides would also pile on layers of fur, silk and velvet, as apparently grooms didn't care if his wife-to-be reeked of sweaty B.O. as long as she was loaded. It was dear ol' Queen Victoria (whose reign lasted from 1837-1901) who made white fashionable. She wore a pale gown trimmed in orange blossoms for her 1840 wedding to her first cousin, Prince Albert. Amy's Wedding Bliss

Amy found us through her florist- Justin Roses of Round Rock. She was looking for a particular bridesmaid dress that she loved! Amy's wedding was at Reunion Ranch of Liberty Hill. I love to tell about the stories that are unique as hers. She road up to her wedding ceremony on horseback... very Julia Roberts! The flowers were amazing (As you can see) and I have to give kudos to Nestecha at Justin Roses. Everything I see of her work is fantastic, but most of all... ever bride that is using her tells me only great things. A true sign of a good business woman- integrity and customer service. Contact their flower shop at 512-697-9777 and you can see more about Justin Roses as www.justinroses.com Her bridesmaids were beautiful. They each rented this "little black dress" that we carry in our store. Amy, thank you for your business, but most importantly we had a lot of fun! I was so glad to get your pictures so I could blog them and share! Thank you for the revi

Jessica and Will's Wedding Bliss

Jessica and her mom Sherry came into our shop looking for her bridal gown in our bridal collection and one from our Mother of the Bride selection. They were very fun pair! I really enjoyed them and later got to meet Will when he bought his tuxedo and needed alterations before the wedding. Will and Jessica came in today and had this sweet picture and note that I cherish! It makes your job so enjoyable to have feedback from your customers knowing that your effort and extra mile was noticed... and of course appreciated! Congratulations to both of you- Will and Jessica! Thank you for note and I look forward to seeing pictures of more very soon. Much love, Sue

Wedding Bells at Forest Creek Country Club, Round Rock, TX

Suzanne and I met when she needed alterations for her wedding gown. She came in to visit the store and left with the dress fitting just the way she wanted it to and picked up a few accessories along the way! She was so kind to share these photos with me after the wedding and I wanted to share them with you. Suzanne, all the best in the many years to come with your handsome groom!! You look absolutely beautiful and all my best to you! Much Love, Sue ------------------------- The photo details: Suzanne's wedding reception and ceremony was held at Forest Creek Country Club in Round Rock, Texas. They have a spacious indoor and outdoor area. An enormous white tent was recently added to their property with flagstone/cement flooring below. It is nice because it takes the space they already have for the outdoor portion of the venue and creates a back up for bad weather. They can roll down side screen walls and add heaters to make it a cozy place! Suzanne was married in Decem

Millie and Drew

Millie and Drew were married at the University Avenue Church of Christ in Austin, TX. Their reception was held at the Arthouse downtown which is such a unique idea to have your reception at a place that gives your guests conversation starters while enjoying the evening! Don't you agree that their photos are amazing?! I am always so impressed with The Nichols which is a photography company as a husband and wife team. Jennifer is the wife and I have recommended her to several customers who have completely raved about their experience as well. I consider their work art... it is darn near perfect! The pictures above were a few of my favorites care of The Nichols Photography. Check out their blog at: http://thenicholsblog.com/
